Shoud it effect you?
You know comments like this really tick me off from an IPO. He asked a legit question, does it effect the share holders. Dreads are what? 2bil isk each. That is 4bil isk loss. Does that come from shareholders or from ISS. Does this war help the stations atm, or does it hurt them. Your suppose to be a public corp, you shouldnt attack everyones comments. -----------------------------------------------

Yes. Because if, for example, ISS offers a discount on dreads to in-alliance corps, that's a missed opportunity cost--i.e., a missed bit of profit.

But it helps more ISS members in Capital Ships, whereas the members had to pay 100% of the Capital Ship cost, there would be a substantial part of the members that simply couldn't afford a Dreadnaught or Carrier, thus less members would be able to contribute to the effective defence of the outposts.
There's a subtle balance between profit and effeciency, the only thing we can ask for is that ISS leadership aims for that balance, which I think they will if they are serious about ISS continued survival.
I dont think DeathGrip was asking why they do it, I think he was more asking what do they do. And from what I can gather ISS pays for its own ships and such and dosnt effect the IPO. -----------------------------------------------
